NXTUS’ 2024 annual report is notable for its use of an unusual 4-colour palette, limited animation, and short videos.



The annual report is built as a website and has as its colour palette a mix of orange, cyan, white, and black. The white is primarily used for backgrounds and text, the black for text, with the orange and cyan working as the main components of the palette. It’s a good application of digital design principles, as the colours work well online, but would have been difficult to reproduce in print, particularly for text blocks.



Short videos function as statements from top management and beneficiaries. The provision of transcripts to the CEO’s video is a positive inclusion for the hearing-impaired. Not something you see often in annual reports and as such, a welcome aspect of the report. It’s a shame the idea was not applied to other videos on the site.



Snippets of video without sound run in the background layer as a decorative flourish. While these can be distracting, they are not overly so, given the 2-colour palette applied to them, and the very short blocks of text that accompany the snippets. This is a promising report from a small company making good use of online design spaces.
